Serving
House District 55 since 1982
The
citizens of Hanover County elected Frank Hargrove, Sr. to the Virginia
House of Delegates in 1981. Putting their trust in his commonsense,
conservative leadership, the citizens have reelected Frank Hargrove
by wide margins in every contested election since. Delegate Hargrove
believes that his constituent's trust must be earned every single day,
and constantly works for the well being of Hanover County, and the Commonwealth
of Virginia. Frank's current Committee assignments include Vice-chairman
of the Commerce & Labor Committee, where he chairs the Insurance
and Banking subcommittee, Privileges & Elections Committee, and
the Rules Committee, where he chairs the Legislative Studies subcommittee.
Frank's other legislative duties include serving as Chairman of the
Virginia War Memorial Foundation Board of Trustees, the Joint Legislative
Audit and Review Commission, and the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation.
Frank was elected as the first Chairman of the Joint Republican Caucus
of the Virginia General Assembly in 1986, and has served in the same
capacity every other year.
Serving
the country in World War II, Frank, with his mother's permission, enlisted
in the Army Air Corps on his seventeenth birthday. After the war, Frank
flew his plane to Blacksburg, where he attended Virginia Tech on a football
scholarship, graduating in 1951. After college, Frank married Oriana
